Backbone and PlayStation unveiled a brand-new Backbone One controller for iPhone that is exclusively available for PlayStation.

Maneet Khaira, CEO of Backbone, said "I am thrilled to present Backbone One - PlayStation Edition," an officially licensed mobile controller for iPhone users.

The Backbone One for iPhone's original version is expanded upon in the PlayStation Edition, which also includes an official PlayStation license, as evidenced by the game's standard PlayStation color scheme and button layout.

With the Backbone One, users can connect the controller to their iPhone and use PlayStation Remote Play to play any PS5 or PS4 game over a fast internet connection.

The Backbone also functions with App Store games and other streaming services that support controllers. This includes Xbox Game Pass in addition to games from the App Store and Apple Arcade. There is now a Backbone app that is compatible with PlayStation, complete with integrations like unique glyphs and a section specifically for new PlayStation releases and updates.

The Backbone One does not require charging because it is powered by your iPhone, but it does support passthrough charging.

Launch locations for the new Backbone One — PlayStation Edition include the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

All of Apple's top iPhone models, including the iPhone 13, are compatible with the Backbone One.
